  • 57 employees lost their jobs in Diprung Rural Municipality

    Khotang- Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality of Khotang has decided not to extend the contract period of 57 contract employees. The 25th executive meeting of the rural municipality held on Monday decided not to extend the contract period of 57 employees out of a total of 65 employees for renewal.

    Village head Lokendra Rai said that it was decided not to renew the contract period of three 6th level officers, 4 fifth level officers, 11 agricultural officers, 18 public health officers, 5 veterinary officers and other contract employees.

    When some people’s representatives removed the contract employees and appointed their own employees immediately after being elected, the Diprung Chuichumma rural municipality has decided to give a bonus of five lakh rupees to the contract employees who are over 50 years of age and to give the other contract employees a benefit equal to one and a half month’s salary as an incentive.

    The rural municipality has decided to renew the contract period of only five village policemen, one ambulance driver, one driver of the village chairman’s vehicle and a backhoe loader operator. The executive meeting has decided to open an advertisement for the recruitment of new contract employees. According to Chairman Rai, old employees can also return to service through the examination.
