Sakela-Khotang Seva Samaj UK (UK) has started a free health camp with the aim of providing free healthcare services to the citizens of their native Khotang in their own villages. Aiming at Khotang citizens who are out of reach of health services, the society has organized health camps in 11 places of the district so that a team of health workers including expert doctors will provide free health services for two days each.
On the first day of the camp (April 16th and 17th), Sakela Basic Hospital of Sakela Rural Municipality, Khotang bazar Health post of Khotehang Rural Municipality, Chisapani Primary Health Center of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality and Rawabesi Health post of Rawabensi Rural Municipality are being conducted simultaneously. Meanwhile, the free health camp held at Sakela Basic Hospital in co-ordinatiuon with Sakela Rural Municipality, Dr. Khotang Seva Samaj UK President Mr. Pramod Koyi Rai inaugurated the lamp (i.e. Panas) by lighting the lamp.
Mr. Ravi Prakash Rai, Chairman of Khotang Service Society, Dr. Pramod Koyi Rai the Vice President Bhagyavati Rai, Advisor Ratnakumar Rai and other medical team were welcomed with food and flowers. During this, Chairman Rai has believed that relief will be provided to patients in rural areas who are far away from health camps and are deprived of specialist health services.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officials of the Khotang Seva Samaj who had organized the camp with selfless love for their homeland Khotang and the team of health workers working in the camp. President Rai said that the citizens of Khotang living in the land of migration have acquired expertise in various subject areas, he has urged them to bring such people to their homeland and take initiatives to contribute to the prosperity of the district by spending the skills and arts they have learned. He is of the opinion that if the Khotanges who are in migration can use the skills they have learned for the prosperity of the district, a civilized district and local level can be built.
Khotang Seva Samaj has previously provided 7 ambulances worth more than 1.15 million to Khotang district and has provided medical treatment worth more than 50 million during the epidemic of covid. Likewise, Chairman Rai expressed his gratitude on behalf of Sakela Rural Municipality for conducting an exemplary work by conducting a health camp worth four million as the third support.
San Bahadur Rai, the chief guest of the camp opening program, thanked Khotang Seva Samaj for organizing the free health camp. Stating that their support is exemplary due to the love and harmony of their country and their village, he urged them to provide continuous support in the future as well.
Dr. Pramod Koyi Rai, president of Khotang Seva Samaj UK, said that the camp was conducted in coordination with local governments. Dr. Rai expressed his gratitude for the support and coordination shown by the local government, saying that if the patients who come to the camp and get medical treatment get relief, the pain and efforts they have made from Britain will be worthwhile.
Similarly, the vice-president and coordinator of the camp program, Bhagyavati Rai, said that although we are far away from our native land, the free health camp has been organized with the aim of applying bandages. He also expressed his commitment that he will continue to love his homeland and do various social activities in the future.
On the first day of the camp conducted at Sakela Basic Hospital, 208 people received medical treatment. According to Dr. Kisan Ghimire of Sakela Hospital, 29 people have received health treatment related to gynecological diseases, while 120 people have received general health treatment. Similarly, Ghimire informed that 29 people received pediatric services and 30 people received dental treatment services.
Khotang Seva Samaj Britannia, an organization of Khotang people living in Britain to do various professions and businesses, has organized free health camps at 11 different locations in the district today from Friday to the 23rd. The camp has been conducted with the slogan ‘Respect for Motherland, Health Labor Donation Campaign’.
According to the organizer, an amount equal to Rs. Rajen Ramjung Rai, general secretary of organizer Khotang Seva Samaj UK, informed that more than 130 health workers including 45 expert doctors will participate in the camp which will be conducted till March 23rd.
According to the organizers, around 50,000 Khotange citizens will be treated and tested for diseases such as Gynecologist, Pediatrician, General Physician, Dentistry, Orthopedic, Gastrology and other free health check-ups and medicines will be distributed in the camp
The organizers said that the camp will be conducted at Aiselukhark market of Aiselukhark Rural Municipality on March 17th and 18th and four places on March 20th and 21st. General Secretary Rai has informed that on March 20th and 21st, camps will be conducted in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality, Barahpokhari Rural Municipality, Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality and Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality-9 Nirmalidanda.
According to the organizers, camps were organized on March 22 and 23 at Buipa of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi and Baksila Bazar of Kepilasgarhi Rural Municipality. The organizers said that after the completion of the camp which will be organized at the local level, it will be formally concluded on March 24 at Shubham Foundation in Diktel.
