Sakela- Sakela rural municipality has presented its policy, program, and budget for fiscal year 2081/082. The 14th village assembly, held on Monday in the municipal hall with the main theme of ‘Succulent, Institutionalized, and Prosperous Sakela’, presented its policy and program, prioritizing prideful initiatives included in the periodic plan.
A total budget of 312.2 million rupees was given before the village meeting chaired by Ravi Prakash Rai. The rural municipality is expected to receive 69.3 million rupees under the financial equalization grant, 63.8 million rupees from revenue distribution, 144.43 million rupees under the conditional grant, and 60 million rupees under the supplementary grant in the coming fiscal year.
Similarly, the rural municipality has received 39 lakh 59 thousand rupees in financing equalization grant from the provincial government, 26 lakh 51 thousand rupees in vehicle tax, 96 lakh 82 thousand rupees in state conditional grant, and 1 crore rupees in supplementary grant, with an internal income of 25 lakh rupees projected.
According to the provided strategy and program, the rural municipality has budgeted 338 million 8891 thousand rupees for the current fiscal year 2080/081, but only 23 million 62 million 90 thousand rupees, or 60.82 percent of the entire budget, have been spent as of June 9, 2081.
Vice President Birsika introduced the policy, program, and budget to the village assembly. The proposed policy, program, and budget have been approved by the majority of the village assembly. Similarly, Vice President Rai presented the Appropriation Bill, 2081 and the Economic Act, 2081 to the Assembly, and both were approved by the majority of the members.
Chairman Rabi Prakash Rai expressed his gratitude to political parties, people’s representatives, employees, teachers, intellectuals, journalists, civil society, and the entire Sakela community for their direct and indirect contributions to the village’s development from the 12th to the 14th village assemblies.
He stated that constant coordination with the Union and State Governments will be maintained in order to fulfill Sakela’s grandeur projects, and that tourism will transport the rural municipality to a prosperous destination. He stated that a complete project report for significant tourism infrastructure in Tawabhanjang, including Tawatal, religious park, and culture village, has been prepared, and that development on the cultural village has begun. Similarly, he claimed that Maparung, Dhanneshwari Cave, Sakela Park, Lamduwali, and Tawadovan would be developed as tourism destinations.
He stated that, among the infrastructure included in the periodical plan to develop the large tourist area of Sakela and build a model municipality within the next four years, the construction of the Sakela trail and cultural village on the municipality’s border, as well as the construction of a digital municipality, will be prioritized.
