  • Sakela rural municipality will not remove contract employees

    Sakela- Sakela rural municipality has renewed the contract period of 53 people working on contract from officer level to office assistant. While the news that various local levels of the country have fired contract employees without renewing the contract period is being published, Sakela has renewed the contract period of all the employees from 6 months to one year.

    Rural Municipality Head/Chairman Ravi Prakash Rai said that the contract period of all employees has been renewed with effect from July 1st. “We are not removing any of the employees who are working”, said Chairman Rai – “It costs crores of rupees for the state to remove the employees who are working.”

    Chairman Rai said that if the current employees are appointed according to the rank and new employees are removed, the work of the people will be affected and it will take time for the new employees to learn the job and to replace the old employees. They have been appointed according to their qualifications, efficiency and capacity, removing existing employees and appointing new ones will cost the state millions of rupees, that amount is collected from the taxes paid by the people, President Rai said that we will not spend unnecessary money in the name of appointing employees.

    Sakela rural municipality currently has 53 employees, including 24 health workers, working under contract. 6 people in the complete sanitation project conducted by the rural municipality, one information technology officer, two assistant sub-engineers, two agricultural technicians, one person in veterinary, one person in the multi-sectoral nutrition program, one person in the Prime Minister’s employment program, two people in the registration branch, Vishweshwar with the poor. One person in the program, one person under the enterprise development program, one backholder driver, one ambulance driver and 10 office assistants are working on contract.

    At present, there are 27 permanent employees working in the rural municipality, including 9 health workers. In the village administration, there are four people of fifth level, one computer operator of fifth level, one woman development inspector, one accounting officer, two sub-engineers, one/one person of fifth and fourth level of agriculture, veterinary officer and one/of fifth level. Chief Administrative Officer Mahesh Rai said that one person, the post of employment coordinator and employment assistant for the Prime Minister’s Employment Program is vacant. He said that the vacancies will be filled as per the requirement. The said rural municipality had renewed the contract period of all the employees working on contract last year as well.
